a world beyond words

october 2020, amsterdam

poetry has its colours to show

ambiguity and hilarity to share

she said:

let me write you a poem

transparent

the wings of a dragonfly

let the sun read it loud

on the top of a roaming cloud

let me give you a poem

wrapped in golden sunrays

glued with the scent of a pine forest

i’ll bring you this poem

running, jumping above

the stepping stones of ellipses

then we’ll meet like two facing brackets

you will see me wandering through

the alleys of my poem,

ah, in this game the poet in

her folly roams vigorously

along the shore of sentences,

jumps over a dash, climbs up

the capital letters, eventually

finds peace on the top of

a question mark,

how ambiguous it seems

losing definitely matters

for in losing one finds eternity

losing oneself, leaving one’s house

is coming home

when you tire of people, trust poetry

words will float freely

words will take you home

give birth to a baby-poem! the inner child

who in her playfulness and madness

will create a world beyond words
